What if a veneer breaks?

Problems with Porcelain veneers and Lumineers® are possible

Written by south Florida cosmetic dentist Dr. Jeffrey Lissauer, serving Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Palm Beach

Even though veneers are made of highly durable materials and bond strongly to your teeth, some forceful actions can still cause a veneer to chip or even come off. If your veneer does chip or comes off, you should certainly see your dentist immediately to determine the best course of action. If the veneer is chipped, a tooth colored filling material can sometimes be bonded to the broken area to aesthetically replace the missing piece. If a large piece chips or the whole veneer comes off, the veneer may need to be redone.

So, you should strive to do everything possible to protect and maintain your beautiful new smile. (Learn more about taking care of veneers)
