Dental implants have changed the field of dentistry. Implants can now replace teeth predictably and safely. In fact, research has shown that the success rate of dental implants is above 95%.
A dental implant is a titanium screw that is placed into your jaw one. Your bone grows around the implant screw and holds it in securely and firmly. On average, four to six months are needed for the bone to fully grasp an implant screw. After waiting this period of time, the implant screw can be used to hold in a crown. The implant screw is under your gums, and the crown is placed on top of the implant screw. Thus, no one sees the titanium screw. People only see the beautiful crown, that looks and feels just like your other teeth.
What if you are missing numerous teeth, can you still use implants?
Even if you have several teeth missing, multiple dental implants can be used to replace them. Even if you have lost all of your teeth, many dental implants can often be used to replace all of your teeth.
