Do you have a denture or partial denture? Does it move when you talk? Does it move when you eat? Do you use denture adhesive?
If you answered “yes” any of these questions, dental implants may be able to truly change your life. Historically, making a denture or partial denture that stays in the patient’s mouth perfectly at all times has been a challenge for dentists. However, dental implants have revolutionized the way dentures and partial dentures are made.
Dental implants are titanium screws that are placed into the jaw bone. Your bone, over a period of time, grows around the implant screw and holds it in securely. Then, the implant screw can be used to hold in the denture or partial denture. A ball is placed on top of the implant screw. A corresponding socket is placed on the inside of the denture or partial denture. Then, the socket will clip into the ball on the implant screw, holding the denture in firmly and securely.
So, if your denture or partial denture is not perfect, you could really benefit from an evaluation to see if you are a good candidate for dental implants.
Also, if you are considering having a new denture or partial denture made, you should highly consider dental implants to help hold it in place.
