Dental crowns: Cost & prices

Differences in quality make price comparisons of tooth crowns challenging

Written by south Florida cosmetic dentist Dr. Jeffrey Lissauer, serving Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Palm Beach

Many factors affect the price of dental work, especially dental crowns. In dentistry, like everything in life, quality ranges widely. Some dentists take extensive training in cosmetic dentistry. Some only use the most researched and highest quality dental materials. Also, some lab technicians, who make dental crowns, have higher abilities and experience. Thus, the price range of dental crowns is drastic. Porcelain crowns range from $825 to $1,500, and porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns range from $750 to $1,300.

In my practice, we pride ourselves on only using the highest quality materials while still offering very reasonable fees to better serve the south Florida community. With digital x-rays and lasers, our office is equipped with only the most advanced technologies in the dental field. Also, we confidently believe that we use the best dental laboratory in the country.

A little about me and my experiences with dental crowns:

After graduating from Tufts Dental School, I completed a residency at Boston City Hospital. Following the residency, I worked in a practice near Boston while teaching at my dental school for a few years. My wife Joanne and I then decided to move to south Florida, where I have practiced for the past twenty-five years. Over this time, cosmetic dentistry has become my passion, especially making beautiful dental crowns. In the office, we make sure that every crown blends absolutely perfectly with our patients’ natural teeth. If the color of a dental crown is slightly off, we add a little color and bake the crown in our porcelain oven until it is the perfect shade. Also, we want every crown to look gorgeous and last as long as possible, so we only use the highest quality porcelain. If we are making a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown, we only use high precious metal. In addition, to make every crown, we confidently believe that we use the best dental laboratory in the country. If you have questions about dental crowns or would like to come in for a complimentary evaluation, please feel free to contact us.
